Keifer Sykes put on a big performance and led Sidigas Avellino to a win against Olimpia Milano, handing the powerhouse their first loss of the season in the Italian League.

Keifer Sykes dropped 31 points and led Sidigas Avellino to an 85-81 home win against Olimpia Milano handing them their first loss in the Italian League this season. Avellino improved to 9-4 while Milano is still alone at the top with a 12-1 record.

Caleb Green helped Sykes with 18 points in addition to Ariel Filloy’s 15. For Milano, Arturas Gudaitis registered a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds while Mike James added 14 points.

Avellino held an early 24-17 lead but went on the halftime rest with the minimal one (42-41). They managed to increase the lead to the same seven-point margin late in the third (63-56) but Milano stayed close until the very end.
