Milano bounces back with win over Varese

Milano went all guns blazing in the second half.

Olimpia Milano bounced back to victories in the Italian League following the loss to Sassari, by defeating Varese 84 – 94 on the road.

It was a particularly strong second half that helped Milano win the game. Varese was up 52 – 39 at the beginning of the third quarter but Nemanja Nedovic (20 points, six rebounds, five assists) and James Nunnally (17 points) unleashed a counterattack that helped Milano lead 65- 69 at the end of the period.

Milano stayed ahead for the remainder of the game. The “Red Shoes” outscored their opponents 57 – 41 in the second half to capture their 20th win in 26 games this season in Italy and remain at the top spot.

Varese dropped to 14 – 12 and the eighth place. Aleksa Avramovic scored 24, Ronald Moore 14 points while Thomas Scrubb had 14 points and seven rebounds.

Mike James added 15 points and Vladimir Micov 14 for Milano.
