Drew Crawford leads Cremona to Serie A semifinals

Vanoli Cremona made the Italian League semifinals thanks to an MVP performance by Drew Crawford.

Drew Crawford scored 33 points, including the go-ahead basket, and grabbed six rebounds as Vanoli Cremona beat Alma Trieste 81 – 78 on the road and won the Italian League quarterfinal series 3-1.

With his team down 78 – 76 in the last minute of the match, Crawford drained the 3-pointer that put his team up 78 – 79. Triest didn’t manage to score any points afterward.

Chris Wright finished with 18 points for Triest.

Cremona will face either Reyer Venezia or Dolomiti Energia Trento in the semifinals. The latter tied the series 2-2 after falling behind 2-0 thanks to a 61 – 61 home win.

Devyn Marble (16 points) and Dustin Hogue (12 points, 11 rebounds) were the main contributors for Trento. From Venezia, Mike Bramos scored 15.
