Reyer Venezia had a powerful second half to defeat Cremona.

Mitchell Watt scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds in 25 minutes as Reyer Venezia defeated Vanoli Cremona 87 – 80 on the road in Game 1 of the Italian League semifinal series.

After falling behind 40 – 37 at halftime, Venezia scored 27 points in the third period against Cremona’s 19 to enter the final period up 59 – 64. The visiting side kept the same offensive intensity to get the win and the 1-0 advantage.

Austin Daye contributed 11 points and six rebounds to Venezia’s victory. Mike Bramos scored 11.

For Cremona, Travis Diener scored 15 points while Drew Crawford and Wesley Saunders dropped 14 points apiece. Mathias Mangok had a double-double of 11 points and 15 rebounds.
