Dinamo Sassari grabbed a 108-96 home win over Olimpia Milano after overtime sweeping the series 3-0 and advancing to the Italian League Finals.
Jaime Smith nailed 29 points for Sassari on 7-8 three-point shooting and two of them came in the overtime in which he also banked two free throws to seal the deal. Rashawn Thomas followed with 22 points and eight boards in addition to Jack Cooley’s 20 points.
Sassari had an 88-83 lead with a minute and a half remaining but Mike James and James Nunnally banked a triple each to put Milano ahead (89-88). Sassari’s Pierre made one of his two free throws at the 30-second mark to tie the game at 89 which ended up being the last point in regular time.
For Milano, Nunnally scored 19 points while James and Mindaugas Kuzminaskas added 18 each. Nemanja Nedovic helped with 16 points.
In the Finals, Sassari will clash with the victor of the semifinals matchup between Vanoli Cremona and Umana Reyer Venezia which is currently tied at 1-1.
