Milano fans had a certain reason to smile after the game though.

Germani Basket Brescia delivered the upset of the week in Round 2 of the Italian League regular season by defeating Olimpia Milano 73 – 65 on the road.

The winning squad played excellent defense throughout the whole game and reached the last stretch with a nine-point lead, 62 – 71 that proved to be enough to grant them victory over the “Red Shoes”.

DeAndre Lansdowne scored 13 points while Luca Vitali and Ken Horton added 12 points apiece for Brescia. Michael Roll was the top scorer for Milano with 19 points to go with his six assists.

Following the game, Milano head coach Ettore Messina announced that the club signed Luis Scola for the remainder of the season.

In Pistoia, Virtus Bologna downed the local team behind Vince Hunter’s 22 points.
