Oded Kattash is expected to be fired from the position of the Israeli Basketball national team head coach, per a report by Walla. Maccabi Rishon and Israeli U20 national team Guy Goddess has emerged as the favorite for the job.
Kattash had filed a lawsuit against the Israeli Basketball Federation, accusing them of unilaterally furloughing him without pay when the coronavirus outbreak began. The Israeli coach accused the Federation of illegal actions and a breach of terms of his contract, claiming an amount of approximately 290,000 shekels (around 75,000 euros).
The Federation told Kattash that he may not be fired if he drops the lawsuit but the coach doesn’t plan on doing so.
Kattash was named coach of the Israeli national team in 2017.
