Turkish Basketball Federation president Hedo Turkoglu announced on Twitter that he tested positive for coronavirus.
“I learned that my COVID-19 test result was positive,” Turkoglu, 41, wrote. “I have light symptoms, and therefore I am treated and isolated at home. I strongly recommend you to obey the rules for use of mask, social distancing and hygiene.”
Turkoglu, a former longtime NBAer, has been the president of the Turkish Federation since 2015.
There were 5,103 new coronavirus cases in Turkey on Friday, November 20. Since the beginning of the outbreak, Turkey has registered 435,273 cases overall and 12,084 casualties.
