Ognjen Dobric and Aleksa Avramovic helped Serbia take down Greece and get through the 2021 Acropolis Cup undefeated

The 30th edition of the Acropolis Cup came to an end with Serbia logging a 75-64 win against Greece and getting undefeated through the tournament with a 3-0 record. This was Greece’s only loss.

Ognjen Dobric and Aleksa Avramovic were the leading scorers for Serbia with 18 points each on 7-12 and 7-10 shooting respectively while Boban Marjanovic had  12 and Filip Petrusev 11 points.

Nemanja Bjelica scored five points but also grabbed 11 boards. For Greece, Dinos Mitoglou logged 17 in addition to Kostas Sloukas‘ ten points.

Earlier, Puerto Rico managed to hold off Mexico and grab a 75-72 win. Gian Clavell led the way with 17 points while Isaac Sosa added 14 and Gary Browne dished eight assists.

For Mexico, Giron Gabriel and Estrada Jose scored 17 each. Paul Stoll logged a double-double with 15 points and 12 assists while Fabian Jaimes scored no points but grabbed 15 boards.

Another friendly tournament among national teams has been going on today, in Germany, where the Czech Republic got a convincing 85-55 win over Tunisia.

Martin Peterka scored 18 for the victors followed by Patrik Auda with 14 and Ondrej Sehnal with 12 points. For Tunisia, nobody scored in double-digits with Oussama Marnaoui, Mourad El Mabrouk, Mohamed Hadidane having nine points each.

Germany and Italy concluded the tournament later in the evening with the former coming out victorious 91-79. Joshiko Saibou was the top scorer for the winning team with 18 points while Andreas Obst scored 13.

Moe Wagner, Johannes Voigtmann, Isaac Bonga scored 11 points each with Voigtmann also grabbing nine rebounds and dishing seven assists. For Italy, captain Nicolo Melli delivered with game-high 21 points followed by Achile Polonara with 16.
