Italy names preliminary roster ahead of EuroBasket

The Italian national team will have most of its major stars available for the 2022 summer tournaments.

The Italian Basketball Federation announced the preliminary roster of the national team ahead of the 2023 World Cup Qualifiers games of August (24 vs. Ukraine and 27 against Georgia) and the 2022 EuroBasket.

17 players have been called by Italy head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco to participate in a training camp that will take place from August 3 to 10. The list, that includes new Boston Celtics forward Danilo Gallinari, is as follows:

Italy will give two exhibition games against France and also participate in the Hamburg tournament, along with Serbia, Germany and Czech Republic before the first two World Cup Qualifiers matches and the EuroBasket.
