No possibility for Germany to play in Rio means no more Dirk in international tournaments

FIBA announced the countries that will host the Pre – Olympic qualifying tournaments as well as the national teams that will participate in them. Germany didn’t make the cut.

Unfortunately, that automatically means that the Eurobasket 2015, was the last time in which we saw the amazing Dirk Nowitzki with the jersey of his national team. After fulfilling a dream by playing in such a competition in his country, the legendary player had left the door open for a return to the “Panzers”, but only if his country would get a wildcard for the pre – Olympic tournament before Rio.

So now, Dirk’s “Auf Wiedersehen” becomes official and finite. Thank you for the memories, “meister”
