After the decision made by FIBA to ban 14 countries from the upcoming Eurobasket, including Spain, Rudy Fernandez expressed his frustration with a simple phrase: “We are screwed”.
The international player of Real Madrid has participated in all five Eurobasket tournaments since 2007, while he was also present in two Olympic Games and the World Championship tournaments of 2010 and 2104 during that period. But now he and his teammates in the Spanish national team might not find themselves playing in the Eurobasket 2017. “We are screwed for not being able to play in the upcoming Eurobasket”, he said to the Spanish radio show “Play Basket” of Cadena Ser. “FIBA has made this decision without thinking well first”, added the 31-year old guard/forward.
