After succeeding to claim a spot in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament by finishing 7th in the Eurobasket 2015, an ambitious Czech Republic national team now dreams of making it to the next level: Gaining entry to the Olympic Games in Rio.

The selection of players by coach Ronen Gizburg ahead of the pre-Olympic tournament of Belgrade, includes Euroleague stars like Jan Vesely and Tomas Satoransky, the quality of naturalized Blake Schilb and the veteran’s guidance that Jiri Welsch brings to the squad.

Here are the 19 players of the Czech Republic preliminary squad:

Patrik Auda, Petr Benda, Jaromir Bohacik, Pavel Houska, Vojtech Hruban, David Jelinek, Martin Kriz, Tomas Kyzlink, Lukas Palyza, Adam Pechacek, Martin Peterka, Tomas Pomikalek, Pavel Pumprla,  Tomas Satoransky,  Blake Schilb,  Jakub Sirina, Kamil Svrdlik, Jan Vesely and Jiri Welsch.
