The union (ΠΣΑΚ) issued today the following press release: “The members of the Hellenic Basketball Players Union express their deep dissatisfaction with the recent statements made by Jordi Bertomeu regarding the World Cup qualifiers and the obligations of the EuroLeague players.
We understand his desire because he wants to protect his “product”, but it’s not all about money. The national teams are above all and we totally disagree with Mr Bertomeu. We are “teammates” of the Spanish Basketball Players Union, who did not hesitate to express their disagreement with their compatriot. These decisions should be taken by the protagonists of the sport, that is the players, as well as the federation of each country. “
