Turkish Basketball Federation president Hedo Turkoglu addressed the comments made by Anadolu Efes guard Shane Larkin that the jersey of the country’s national team would “look good” on him.
Turkoglu expressed to his appreciation to Larkin saying that Turkey feels “more like a home” to him and mentioned that the one who will decide about the player possibly joining the “12 Giant Men” will be none other than head coach Ufuk Sarica, plus his staff and the officials of the team.
“It makes me happy that foreign players like Larkin come to our country, see the hospitality here and feel intimate with our country due to the love shown by our people,” Turkoglu said to Anadolu News Agency. “He is a player that I like watching with appreciation. He also knows the atmosphere we created here both internally and externally. It made us happy that he thinks this way, but the final decision will be up to Ufuk Sarıca, his staff and our directors. I would like to thank him for thinking of our National Team and country in such a way.”
Larkin has also mentioned that he would be “definitely open” to the idea of playing for Croatia.
