Just before the tip-off of the Israeli league game between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv, the news about the death of Kobe Bryant broke out. Amare Stoudemire who made his debut with Maccabi tonight was asked on live television to comment on the tragic event.
“I don’t know what to say, man”, a visibly shocked Amare said. “I am shocked, bro. I don’t have an idea of what to think. It feels unreal, I don’t want to believe it. It’s like a dagger to my heart. I have no idea how to put my emotions off”.
The game in Tel Aviv started with a tribute to Kobe.
