The Milwaukee Bucks are waiving Croatian forward Dragan Bender, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports. The team is unloading the in order to clear space to acquire forward Marvin Williams.

Bender, 22, joined the Bucks in offseason on a two-way contract. He played in seven games in the NBA in 2019-2020, averaging 3.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 13.0 minutes. In November, he scored a career-high 12 points in a win over the Charlotte Hornets.

In 2016, Bender was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the fourth overall pick in the NBA Draft. Phoenix declined the fourth year of his rookie contract and he became a free agent in 2019.

Bender had a verbal agreement with reigning EuroLeague champion CSKA Moscow in summer. He opted to not join the Russian powerhouse in order to stay in the NBA.
