Magic Johnson opened the 2020 NBA All-Star Game night with a few powerful words for the late Kobe Bryant and former NBA commissioner David Stern, while a moment of silence was held prior to the game.
“We will never see a basketball player quite like Kobe again”, Johnson said in his speech, in midst of chants for Kobe. “He was passionate about being a great father, husband, filmmaker”, he added, then requested the crowd to hold an eight-second moment of silence in honor of his legacy.
Apart from the Hall of Famer, Oscar-winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson also took the stage to pay her own tribute to Kobe with a powerful performance.
