New York Knicks and David Blatt will part ways as his consulting agreement has expired, according to NY Post’s Marc Berman.

Changes in the Knicks structure were expected after Leon Rose became the new president replacing Steve Mills who originally brought in Blatt and the former Cleveland Cavaliers coach ended up being one of them.

Blatt took on the front-office role after retiring from a 26 seasons long coaching career. He leaves on good terms with the organization.

The 2014 EuroLeague as well as the 2018 EuroCup champion with Maccabi Tel Aviv and Darussafaka respectively, most recently coached Olympiacos. He also coached Maccabi Tel Aviv, Benetton Treviso, and Efes Pilsen at the top European level.

The 60 years old Israeli-American announced in August 2019 – a few months before parting ways with Olympiacos – that he had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and he has been considering retirement as well as looking into jobs outside basketball since.
