Sacramento Kings center Alex Len said that he tested positive for coronavirus after undergoing NBA’s mandatory tests ahead of the season resumption. The Ukrainian big man intends to join the Kings in Orlando, Florida upon his recovery.

“I underwent testing yesterday in Sacramento and was found to be positive for COVID-19. I want to thank the Sacramento Kings for their great care and the NBA for putting the protocols in place to allow me to catch this early. I have immediately entered isolation and look forward to being cleared and rejoining my teammates for our playoff push,” Len wrote in an Instagram story.

Kings forward Jabari Parker also announced that he’s currently in self-isolation in Chicago after being found positive for coronavirus some days ago and prior to the NBA-wide testing. “Several days ago I tested positive for COVID-19 and immediately self-isolated in Chicago which is where I remain. I am progressing in my recovery and feeling well. I look forward to joining my teammates in Orlando as we return to the court for the resumption of the season,” Parker said in a statement that was released by the Kings.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that Kings guard Buddy Hield also tested positive for coronavirus.

Over the past few days, Indiana Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon also said that he recently tested positive for coronavirus. Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic also caught COVID-19 while in Belgrade.

NBA teams are expected to be arriving to Orlando and the Walt Disney World at the end of June and the first 10 days of July. The NBA is planned to resume on July 31.
