Nemanja Bjelica is ready to become a center again for the Kings.

Sacramento Kings forward Nemanja Bjelica was used as a “5” during a period in the regular season to cover for injured teammates like Marvin Bagley or Richaun Holmes. Now, he’s quite willing to become a center again if the team requires him to be one in Orlando.

“To be honest, I sometimes like playing ‘5’,” Bjelica said in a zoom call with reporters. “Especially stretch five when I need to spread the court. I feel really good with Buddy and Bogi together. I feel comfortable. I like it. Whatever Luke [Walton] wants to do with me that is for the best for the team, I’ll do it.”

While Bjelica is enjoying hitting those triples (he had 42.4 percent before the season shut down in March), he’s eager to take up some extra duties like facilitating for the rest of the team. “I like that too. I like shooting threes and spreading the court but I also think I can do some other things to make my teammates better,” Bjelica said.

The Kings will be having their first scrimmage on Wednesday when they’ll face Goran Dragic’s Miami Heat. Bjelica and his teammates will see some action after months. “This situation is new for every team here in Orlando. After almost five months, I’m very happy. Probably everyone here. We are ready for our first scrimmage tomorrow.”
