Milwaukee Bucks star and reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo feels that he is at around 70-75 percent of his strength ahead of the resumption of the season.

“If I had to give a percentage, I’d probably I’m 100 percent excited to play but I always feel that I can get better… so I’m around 70 percent, 75,” Giannis said in a zoom call.

Antetokounmpo’s initial focus when the restart kicks off will be to not let that excitement overwhelm him and affect his game in a non-positive fashion.

“I’m excited to go but obviously I haven’t played for a long time,” Antetokounmpo mentioned. “As a player, I know that when the season starts usually, I’m a little bit behind. I’m all over the place just because of excitement I foul a lot, my passes aren’t that sharp. But I know that as the games go on I get better and better.”

The goal for the Bucks and Giannis is to hit the maximum of their performance come playoffs. After all, he’s been locked in going all the way and win the whole thing.

“Usually, I play my best basketball from the mid towards the end of the season,” Antetokounmpo said. “Obviously, I feel I’m going to be better when the playoffs start than in Game 1.”

The Bucks are restarting the season with a game vs. the Boston Celtics Friday (July 31).
