Disney started working on its upcoming ‘Greek Freak’ movie, showcasing the life and early career of NBA player Giannis Antetokounmpo and his brother Thanasis in late 2019, and now the production company proceeds with turning the idea into reality as it’s actively casting for its protagonists.

The company released a casting sheet, looking for Greek-Nigerian, Greek-speaking men in their teens to early twenties, regardless of acting experience, to portray Giannis in his earlier life (ages 13-15 and 15-18), with the production shooting taking place later this year. The exact time of the final release has not been defined.

The ‘Greek Freak’ storyline focuses on Giannis’ early life in Greece, from being stateless until the age of 18, at the poverty line, and playing in the second division of the country, to the 2013 NBA draft, where his life would change forever as he would rise to the NBA’s elite.
