Facundo Campazzo hit the deciding bucket in Sunday’s ACB Supercopa final handing Real Madrid the win in a back-and-forth game opposite to FC Barcelona. His status with the Whites may change sooner rather than later with the NBA seeming to be in his future, but he prefers to remain focused on Madrid.
“I don’t want to think beyond today. I don’t know what will happen tomorrow,” he pointed out following his latest big performance against his side’s arch-rivals, “I want to enjoy the moment, with calm. My teammates are doing an incredible job every day with everything discussed. I am calm, giving everything in Madrid. For the moment, I stay here giving my 100%.”
Head coach Pablo Laso was also asked about Campazzo. “The situation is very simple,” he said and went on to explain, “Campazzo is a Real Madrid player and I think he had a great Supercup and he was MVP.”
“Right now I don’t think much about the future, I think that Facu has helped us a lot to win, he has been very important,” he added, “He has shown his commitment to the team and to the club. I am delighted with him, everyone loves him very much.”
