Dallas Mavericks forward Kristaps Porzingis underwent surgery for a lateral meniscus injury of his right knee, the team announced. As of now, there is no timetable for the Latvian big man’s return to action.

Porzingis was injured in Game 1 of the Western Conference first-round series between the Mavericks and the Clippers on August 17. He went on to play in Game 2 and 3 and it was later announced that he suffered a meniscus tear that ruled him out for the rest of the season. The Mavs lost to the Clippers 4-2.

In 2020-2021, Porzingis averaged 20.4 points and 9.5 rebounds in the regular season, along with 23.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in the postseason.
