Furkan Korkmaz talked to Turkish S Sport TV about what didn’t work out for the 2020 NBA finalist with the Miami Heat during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Korkmaz wasn’t really surprised with Butler stepping up for the Heat, as he said. “It didn’t surprise me too much that Jimmy showed such a performance, but I gotta say that Jimmy has always been someone that spoke out when he sees something wrong or missing. And this kind of player that intervenes too much is not so welcome in the teams, especially by the coaches”, he explained.
However, the Turkish guard/forward noted that the difference in Butler’s game is obvious with the Heat for reasons of chemistry:
“I think that Jimmy never felt that he belonged with our team, he never felt part of our chemistry. So he couldn’t be so happy. Jimmy in Miami has a completely different image, body language, and game. In the end, it is the same Jimmy but he just didn’t feel part of our chemistry.”
