The Golden State Warriors seem to be getting quite hot on Deni Avdija, some weeks before the 2020 NBA Draft (18/11).

According to a report by Ethan Strauss of The Athletic, Avdija worked out in Atlanta in front of Steve Kerr and other people of the Warriors, who were “blown away” by what they saw from the 19-year-old Israeli versatile forward. Not only when it comes to purely his basketball characteristics but also his character and “work ethic.”

Per The Athletic:

Steve Kerr and other members of the Warriors organization worked out Maccabi Tel Aviv prospect Deni Avdija on Thursday morning in Atlanta, according to sources. By all accounts, it was a positive get together, one in which the 19-year-old Israeli impressed observers. Not only did Avdija perform well in the workouts, but Warriors officials were blown away after meeting with him. The universal takeaway was that he’s a “great kid” with an immense work ethic.

Avdija has been projected as a lottery pick over the last year and has recently made it up to spots 5 to 10 in various mock drafts. The Warriors will select with the no. 2 overall pick.

In 2019-2020, Avdija averaged 13.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in the Israeli Winner League regular season plus 9.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals in the playoffs. He also had 4.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 14:17 minutes in EuroLeague.
