The Indiana Pacers have a continuing interest in acquiring Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward via trade according to Ian Begley of SNY. Hayward will be entering the last season of his existing contract with Boston if he doesn’t select the opt-out route.
The Pacers is a team that other clubs are monitoring, SNY’s report also says, due to the situation with Victor Oladipo’s contract and upcoming free agency in 2021. Indiana will need to spend big to sign Oladipo to a major contract extension to keep him on board while also preserving the core of Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner.
Oladipo was also reported as being on the radar of the Milwaukee Bucks. The latter will look to add some All-Star strength and further bolster their championship aspiring team.
