Udonis Haslem will be returning to the Miami Heat for another season, his 18th straight with the team, according to Tim Reynolds.

Haslem started off his NBA career back in 2003 with the Heat and has stayed there ever since, signing a total of nine contracts (including this one). The new contract is expected to be signed on November 22 and be worth $2.5M for the next year.

He was named to the All-Rookie Second Team in 2004 and went on to become a three-time NBA champion (2006, 2012, 2013).

His role on the Heat squad has been basically to lead and mentor the players, both young and veteran. Last season, he played four games.

“He’s just an incredible rock of stability and leadership and mentorship. That’s at all levels. It’s not just to our young players. It’s to our veteran players. And he provides just great guidance and mentorship to this head coach as well. I love him,” coach Spoelstra noted recently.
