Juancho Hernangomez is becoming a restricted free agent after the Minnesota Timberwolves extended him a qualifying offer, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

The Timberwolves can match an offer that another club may extends to Hernangomez in the upcoming free agency to keep the Spanish forward on board.

Hernangomez, 25. joined the Timberwolves from the Denver Nuggets in February in four-team trade. He played 12 games with Minnesota, averaging 12.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 29.4 minutes.

If Hernangomez remains with the Timberwolves, he will unite forces with Spanish national team teammate Ricky Rubio, who is returning to Minnesota after four years.
