Charles Barkley reacted the way you probably expect when he heard “Spanoulis”

After dropping 38 points and flirting with the triple-double in the overtime win of the Dallas Mavericks over the Denver Nuggets, Luka Doncic was asked about the players who have influenced him while growing up.

“Some of everything. Obviously I watched Lebron,” Doncic said when Shaq asked him about if he modeled his game after American or European players. “And I had great teammates back in Spain like Sergio Llull, Rudy Fernandez, Felipe Reyes. They were great Spanish teammates. I learned a lot from them. Also… Spanoulis. I don’t know if you guys know him but he played on Olympiacos.”

Charles Barkley then joked on Spanoulis’ name sounding similar to… Jeff Spicoli, Sean Penn’s character in 80s comedy “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”. Luka, being 21 and basically too young to know the film, was probably a bity confused with Barkley’s reference.
