Lucas Nogueira decided to retire at 28, he announced via Instagram Wednesday.
The Brazilian center was selected with the 16th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft. He went on to play in 154 NBA games with the Toronto Raptors through four seasons.
His earlier pro experience featured Estudiantes until 2014. Following the NBA, he returned to Spain’s ACB joining Fuenlabrada.
Multiple injuries certainly derailed his once-promising career. After sitting out nearly two years, he signed with Brazil’s Cearense but another injury led to his early retirement.
