After 13 years in the NBA, Joakim Noah is effectively retiring from basketball at the age of 36, according to Shams Charania.

The French center spent his first nine seasons with the Chicago Bulls. He moved on to the New York Knicks and the Memphis Grizzlies and played in five more matches last season attached to the Clippers, logging a total of 732 games in the league.

Noah was named an All-Star twice (2013, 2014) and made it to the All-NBA First Team the second year while also grabbing the Defensive Player of the Year award. He’s a two-time NBA All-Defensive Team member and made it once to the Second Team.

He also played for the French national team and won silver at the 2011 EuroBasket in Lithuania.

Noah was born in New York where he went to high school before moving to the University of Florida where he won two NCAA championships and was the Final Four Most Outstanding Player in 2006.

He was drafted 9th overall in 2007 by the Bulls.
