In 2017 and during his rookie year with the Indiana Pacers, Domantas Sabonis saw his former college team Gonzaga Bulldogs making the NCAA Final but losing to the North Carolina Tar Heels. Six years later, he hopes to see his alma mater winning the championship in the tournament that is held in his city of Indianapolis.

“If anything, this is the year. They’re doing it in Indiana so hopefully it brings them good luck,” Sabonis said to Greek Cosmote TV.

“As I’ve been seeing on the results and the scores it certainly looks like that,” Sabonis answered when asked if this version of the Bulldogs is better than the one of 2017. “They’re up there [among the favorites]. I think it’s them, Baylor and 1-2 more teams.”

Sabonis, who was named an All-Star for a second straight year, talked about the comparisons that are being made with his legendary father Arvydas.”Everywhere I go, people talk: “Your father did this, your father did that. If anything, it motivates me,” he said.

One striking similarity Domantas has with his father is his passing ability. “When I less think about the pass, then it’s better,” he commented.
