Pau Gasol’s return to Barcelona has been the “news of the year” so far in 2021 in European basketball and a reason for Marc Gasol to be pleased with seeing his older brother being happy to be back on a team.
“Seeing him happy is the only thing that it’s important to me,” Marc Gasol said after the win of his team’s 110 – 101 win over the Toronto Raptors. He had a season-high 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists. “To see him happy and see him smile. I understand that for you it is different, that you see him as a basketball player. To me, he is my brother. The only thing that it’s important to me and I care about is that Pau is happy. And so I see him. I see him happy for what he is doing. He is focused and dedicated to the challenge that he has ahead of him”
Pau Gasol joined Barcelona in February to return to the club and Europe for the first time in 20 years and after he spent two decades in the NBA. The Spanish big man has yet to debut with the Blaugrana, something that is expected to change either in the next EuroLeague (vs. Bayern Munich) or ACB (vs. Barcelona) game.
