Philadelphia started the playoffs with a win but Washington until the closing seconds could steal the game

Tobias Harris with 37 points and Joel Embiid with 30 led the Philadelphia Sixers to the 125-118 win over the Washington Wizards in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference first round of the playoffs series between them.

With 37 seconds on the clock and the Wizards trailing by five (121-116), Russell Westbrook was whistled for stepping on the sideline, a call that was more than close, and Embiid with two free throws sealed the deal.

Bradley Beal scored 33 points for the losing side, Westbrook had 16 points and 14 assists, while Latvian Davis Bertans added 14 points on 5/10 FG off the bench. Ukrainian Alex Len was a starter for the Wizards, finishing the night with 12 points.

For the winning side, Ben Simmons had 15 rebounds, 15 assists, and six points, while Turkish guard Furkan Korkmaz was scoreless in five minutes of action.
