Luka Doncic scored 39 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed seven rebounds as the Dallas Maverics beat the Los Angeles Clippers 127 – 121 in Game 2 to take a 2-0 advantage in the series.

Tim Hardaway Jr. contributed 28 points on 6-8 3-pointers for the Mavs that had a superb shooting night with 18 – 34 overall from beyond the arc. Dirk Nowitzki, who attended the game, likely approved.

Kristaps Porzingis added 20 points and Maxi Kleber 13.

Kawhi Leonard delivered 41 points while being busy on playing defense on Luka a lot more than Game 1, and Paul George had 28 points for the Clippers. Their efforts weren’t enough since their team was ultimately unable to keep up with Dallas’ offense.

The Clippers went up 78 – 77 in the beginning of the second half and then the Mavs made a 5 – 17 run to grab a 83 – 94 advantage. They later got a 13-point lead, when Porzingis drained the triple for the 114 – 101 five minutes into the fourth period.

Marcus Morris and George tried to bring the Clippers closer but Doncic pushed them back with back-to-back buckets. Hardaway hit a dagger for the 123 – 118 with 1:03 to play and free throws by Josh Richardson sealed the deal for the visiting squad.
