Two-time Defensive Player of the Year Mark Eaton has passed away at the age of 64

Former Utah Jazz great and two-time NBA defensive player of the year Mark Eaton has passed away at the age of 64.

According to reports by the Salt Lake Tribune, Eaton went for a ride with his bike around 8 PM on Friday in Summit County and did not return home. His cause of death is still unknown.

Eaton played for the Utah Jazz from 1982 until 1993 and was named an All-Star in 1989, while he was voted the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 1985 and 1989.

After retiring he resided in Summit County and served as president of the National Basketball Retired Players Association.
