This may not be the end of Dragic’s offseason saga though.

The Miami Heat have exercised the 2021-22 option on Goran Dragic’s contract but that doesn’t mean that the Slovenian guard will be staying with the team.

According to several reports (ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski first reported about the possibility of the deal), Dragic will be likely moving to the Toronto Raptors via a sign-and-trade deal. The agreement will bring Kyle Lowry to Miami.

A potential Dragic departure from Miami will mark the end of his seven-year run with the club; the longer he’s been with any team.

Dragic, 35, may not be spending the upcoming season on the Raptors either since he could be part of another deal if Toronto decides to move him via a new trade. This has been reported as a rather likely scenario.

In 2020-21, Dragic averaged 13.4 points, 4.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 26.7 minutes over 50 games.
