There finally seems to be some common ground between Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers

Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons has met with a team-recommended mental health specialist after his initial hesitation, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

While the Boston Celtics are considering a trade for Simmons, this change of course by the player’s side puts both sides on common ground, after his consistent refusal to provide more info about his mental health meetings to the franchise.

As a result, the Sixers have started fining the All-Star guard/forward for his lack of co-operation,  and he has yet to appear in a game for the 2021-22 season.

For the moment, Simmons plans to continue his meetings with the specialist, as Wojnarowski further reports, and to work out regularly in the Sixers’ practice facility.

On the trade front, the Celtics have expressed interest, but significant progress towards a potential deal has not been made. Simmons first initiated a trade push back in summer, after telling the Sixers he was “no longer interested” to play again for the team, following the 2021 Eastern Conference semifinals loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
