Clint Capela is expected to return to action on Christmas Day, as the Hawks face the Knicks

Atlanta Hawks big man Clint Capela has been cleared from COVID-19 protocols and is expected to return to action on Christmas Day for the team’s matchup against the New York Knicks, per reports by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Capela, 27, has been a key part of the Hawks rotation this season, averaging 11.5 points and 12.8 rebounds in 29 games, all starts, so far.

The Hawks still have eight players in the league’s health and safety protocols, namely: Trae Young, Kevin Huerter, Lou Williams, Danilo Gallinari, Onyeka Okungwu, Timothe Luwaru-Cabarrot, Sharife Cooper, and Wes Iwundu. They have also ruled out Cam Reddish and Delon Wright due to respective injuries, per The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner.
