The Dallas Mavericks announced that big man Kristaps Porzingis won’t return to Saturday’s night contest against the Indiana Pacers after he exited early in the second quarter with right knee soreness.

Per ESPN reports, the Latvian forward/center did not travel with the rest of the squad for their upcoming game against the Orlando Magic and will remain in Dallas to receive treatment. It should be noted that during the 2020 offseason, Porzingis underwent surgery to repair a lateral meniscus injury in that knee.

Porzingis played 11 minutes against the Pacers, adding 5 points prior to his exit. He has been sidelined for 19 games this season due to other minor issues as well as entering COVID protocols.

“He said he’s worried a little bit,” Luka Doncic told reporters after the Mavs‘ win. “Hopefully, it’s nothing. If he’s hurting, it doesn’t make sense to play.”
