The 2022 NBA All-Star Game is roughly a week-and-a-half away, and the two captains of Team LeBron and Team Durant went on to take their picks in the All-Star draft Thursday.
LeBron, the leading scorer of the All-Star voting was awarded the first pick, which was reigning champion and last year’s All-Star MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Kevin Durant followed with his own first pick, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, while Steph Curry and Ja Morant were the second picks for each team respectively.
Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic was selected as the first reserve for Team LeBron, while Rudy Gobert joined Team Durant, also as a reserve.
Surprisingly, just hours after his trade to the Philadelphia 76ers, James Harden was the last player to be selected on Team LeBron as a reserve, with the 14th pick.
With the rosters now set, Team Durant will seek to upset Team LeBron that remains undefeated (4-0 run) since the NBA switched the All-Star format to captains select their squads from the player pool.
