From one point onward, Toppin didn’t have any competition other than himself.

New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin was crowned Slam Dunk Champion of the 2022 All-Star Game Weekend. It was a contest that was widely described as anticlimactic since it featured many failing efforts by the participants.

After finishing as the runner-up in last year’s Slam Dunk contest, Toppin won this one by collecting 45 points on his first dunk in the FInal and 47 in the second to beat Golden State Warriors forward Juan Toscano-Anderson. The latter didn’t manage to convert some of his dunks and finished with 66 points overall in the Final.

Orlando Magic guard Cole Anthony and Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green were eliminated in the second round. They were both unable to convert some of their ideas into actual dunks and fell way behind their competitors in the process.
