NBA decided to suspend its business activities in Russia but it won’t be a big financial hit to the league

An NBA spokesperson told Sports Business Journal that the organization has suspended all of its activities in Russia until further notice.

That includes activities related to content distribution such as digital and broadcast. There is no timeline on when business activities will resume in Russia.

The decision won’t carry big financial consequences as there are currently no active Russian players in the league and the NBA Finals started airing in the country a decade ago.

Meanwhile, some players around the league have also made comments on the whole situation.  Sacramento’s Alex Len and Toronto’s Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, the only two Ukrainians in the NBA, have released a joint statement condemning the Russian invasion and calling for peace.
