Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns addressed the possibility of signing an extension with the club during the offseason, during the team’s exit interview after the elimination to the Memphis Grizzlies.

“I love this city,” Towns said when asked about whether he’ll sign the supermax if the Timberwolves offer it. “So obviously things will happen this summer, when they happen, they happen. I’ve been here so long, I don’t like making plans. I’ll let it comes if it comes. And if it comes, it comes, then we’ll deal with it when it comes. Just take it every day. I’ve been here long enough to know that every day things can change, so just be happy with everything is at right now.”

Towns is eligible for a five-year, $230 million supermax if he’s named on any All-NBA Team. Given the season he had (23.2 points, 11.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists) it’s very likely that he will make one of the three Top 5 squads of the league.

At 26 years of age, Towns has spent the entirety of his NBA career so far with the Timberwolves since the club selected him with the 1st overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
