Former lottery pick George Papagiannis is on the Bucks shortlist, per Eurohoops sources.

Milwaukee is checking the Greek center and if they decide to sign him, his buyout from Panathinaikos is not an issue for them.

“Big Papa” is also a member of the national team of Greece, where he is expected to play with Giannis Antetokounmpo in the upcoming Eurobasket.

He was selected 13th overall in the 2016 NBA draft by the Phoenix Suns, before having his draft rights traded to the Sacramento Kings.

He stayed for two seasons in the NBA and after a trade to the Blazers, he returned to Greece for Panathinaikos. There he flourished under coach Rick Pitino and he emerged last season as a member of the second All-EuroLeague team.

The 24-years old big man is a totally different player compared to his rookie seasons in the NBA and his performance especially this year established him as the best up-and-coming center in Europe.

In the 2021-22 season, he was the top EuroLeague rebounder with 8.2 rpg, while scoring 10.3 ppg and averaging 1.7 bpg.
