Chima Moneke leaves Europe as the Basketball Champions League MVP and has signed a two-year partially guaranteed deal with the Sacramento Kings.

As hoopsrumors.com reports, only $250k of Moneke’s $1.02M contract for the 2022–2023 season is guaranteed, but if the forward isn’t waived before the team plays its first regular-season game, that amount will rise to $500K. As for year two, his contract is non-guaranteed. However, if he plays at least 1,000 minutes in the next season and his team wins 41 games, his pay for the second year will become partially guaranteed at $250k.

Moneke, 26,  averaged 13.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per Basketball Champions League contest with Manresa in 2021-22, winning the MVP honor. He led his team to the final of the competition this past May, falling short to Lenovo Tenerife for the title.

The Nigerian international began his professional career with Rouen in the second division of France in 2018 and made the jump to the first division with Orleans in 2020. He moved to Manresa for the 2021-22 season and stunned the European and Spanish crowd with averages of 14.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists across 34 Liga Endesa games.
