Maxi Kleber is set to ink a new contract and extend his stay in Dallas.

Kleber, 30, is finalizing a three-year, $33M contract extension with the Dallas Mavericks, per Shams Charania of the Athletic. Added to the current contract, the new deal kicks in after the next season and is projected to last until the 2025-26 season.

In the 2017-18 season, he landed in Dallas and the NBA. Coming off a couple of campaigns at FC Bayern Munich, including 21 appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, the German power forward went on to 357 games played in the NBA, including 31 in the last three postseasons. Previous teams were Rio Natura Monbus Obradoiro and s.Oliver Wurzburg. He went undrafted in 2014, before switching from the German to the Spanish club.

In the most recent and fifth NBA campaign, Kleber tallied 7.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.9 blocks, and 0.4 steals per contest over 77 appearances. Career averages of 7.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.9 blocks, and 0.4 steals per game make out the general picture of his NBA career.

He is among the notable absences for Germany in the 2022 EuroBasket. Despite missing Kleber, Moe Wagner, and Isaac Bonga, Germany got the second seed in Group B of the preliminary round and will face Montenegro in the Round of 16 Saturday. The knockout stage of the tournament will be held in Berlin and finish on 18 October.

Kleber was born in the same city as the team legend and currently supporting the franchise as the special advisor, Dirk Nowitzki. Wurzburg has been a special city for the Mavs.
