“It’s gonna be fuel for me to be even better”, Klay Thompson said about Charles Barkley’s criticizing words about him

Earlier in the week, Charles Barkley criticized Klay Thompson, saying that “There was a time when Klay Thompson was the best two-way guard in the NBA and he’s not the same guy”.

Klay Thompson fired back in the post-game press conference after the win against the Miami Heat. “It just hurt my heart hearing that. Because it’s like, man, I put in so much freaking effort to get back to this point. Like, it’s hard to even put into words what I had to do to be the player I am today”, he said.

“I’m gonna internalize it and it’s gonna be fuel for me to be even better. I’m very proud of what we accomplished last year, and I feel like I was a huge part of it. I’m not gonna let these injuries be a crutch for me. I’m just gonna keep going and I’m gonna have a great year. Bet on that”, the Golden State Warriors shooting guard added.

Steph Curry didn’t like Charles Barkley’s words as well, and he replied to the Phoenix Suns legend in the press conference after posting 33 points and 9 assists in the 123-110 win against Miami.

“The comments are part of our success. It’s interesting because certain guys kind of forget what their careers looked like on the backend. Klay helped us win a championship after two hellish years he had”, he said.
